THE CAUSE:
Last year we raised over $2500 USD which bought roofing materials for the El Sargento Primary School playground and medical supplies for the Health Center in El Sargento. This year our goal this year is to raise over $6000 USD to help pay for the following projects:
- La Ventana Kindergarden – repairs to fencing, playground toys
- El Sargento Primary School – labor to finish the shade roof, construction of a much needed bathroom for students, and painting of the school – supplies and volunteer labor

Women's kiteboarding clinic 1/28
Come join pro rider and co-founder of the Women’s Kiteboarding Association, Tonia Farman, for a free clinic at the La Ventana Classic and Kite Expo on January 28. Meet in front of the registration tent at 1pm and participate in a casual clinic of learning and riding tips, trick tips, grab tips, gear tech and general Q & A for women of all levels and ages!

THE EXPO
For 2008, the LV Classic gets even better with FREE DEMOS of the latest gear in kiting organized by The Kiteboarder Magazine. Every day from 12pm – 4pm Airush, Best, Blade, Caution, Cabrinha, Carafino, Eclipse, F-one, Freak Dog, Flysurfer, Liquid Force, Ocean Rodeo, Mystic, Naish, North, Ocena Rodeo, RRD and Slingshot will offer free gear demos to anyone of intermediate kiting ability. The Expo will be set up right near the race finish line in front of Baja Joe’s. Participants need to sign a liability release waiver form and provide credit card information accepting financial responsibility should gear be broken due to gross negligence or not returned for whatever reason. Registration will begin on January 24 in front of Baja Joe’s and will start at 11am daily during the actual event. In addition, there will be food, raffles, music, dancers, and one additional event each day.
RAFFLE
Thousands of dollars in killer shwag has been donated by participating exhibitors and local businesses to help raise money for ‘the cause.’ Raffle tickets are $1 each and will take place daily!
THE RACE - ENTRY
Entry fee is $40 USD - sign up and pay in person at Palapas Ventana or Baja Joe’s,
or sign up by email tim@palapasventana.com and pay online
Competitors get a tshirt, lunch on the island, race jersey, entry in all events, and a chance to do a lot of good in our small community!!
